Partoe is a renewable energy company located in Menlo Park, California. Our focus is distributed power electronics for photovoltaic (PV) solar markets. Partoe envisions the transition of centralized inverters to microinverters directly integrated onto PV solar modules. This transition is similar to the migration of mainframe computers to PCs, laptops, and mobile computing devices. With Partoe’s technology, the inverter becomes an integral part of the PV module; the DC junction box, wiring, connectors, and the bypass diodes are eliminated altogether. Our Tiger 1 microinverter is designed to be low cost, low weight, and highly reliable. It directly integrates onto the panel backsheet and provides grid-tied DC/AC conversion with high efficiency. Each microinverter is provided with proprietary Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and anti-islanding algorithms. It increases the energy harvesting efficiency by addressing the partial shading issues and operating at the maximum power point at the panel level. Partoe’s Tiger 1 enables true PVAC modules and helps solar electricity generation at a lower cost. The reduction in cost comes from a lower installation cost at deployment, as well as a higher energy harvesting efficiency.
